CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. – The #10-ranked Finger Lakes women's volleyball team continued its impressive run this week, earning a 3–1 win over SUNY Broome on Tuesday and a 3–1 victory against Genesee on Thursday night on the road. With the pair of wins, the Lakers improved to 19–3 overall, extended their win streak to 14 straight, and officially clinched the top seed in the Mid-State Athletic Conference Tournament, which they will host on Saturday, October 25th.
Against SUNY Broome (22-25, 25-14, 25-16, 25-18), the Lakers overcame a slow start to control the remainder of the match. Anna Kurtzhalts (Grand Island, N.Y./Grand Island) led the offense with 13 kills on a .360 hitting percentage, while Alexa Ocampo (Elba, N.Y./Elba) added 9 kills on .667 hitting and 7 digs. Kayce Hennekey (Rochester, N.Y./West Irondequoit) and Allyson St. Germain (Cincinnatus, N.Y./Cincinnatus) contributed 6 and 8 kills, respectively, with St. Germain hitting .538. Olivia Scheuer (Constantia, N.Y./Paul V. Moore) dished out 32 assists.
In Thursday's road matchup with Genesee (25-20, 25-15, 21-25, 25-12), Anna Kurtzhalts again paced the attack with 15 kills on .538 hitting and 17 total points. Olivia Scheuer finished with 28 assists and 5 digs, while Aubrie Tomlinson (Buffalo, N.Y./Frontier) anchored the defense with 22 digs and 3 service aces. Ava Van Antwerp (Walworth, N.Y./Gananda) added 5 kills and 2 blocks as Finger Lakes controlled play from start to finish.

Finger Lakes will close out the regular season on the road at Jamestown Community College this Saturday, October 18th, for a regional pod with a matchup against the host Jayhawks and Genesee Community College.
