Lloyd Earns Women's X/C Runner of the Week Honor

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College Women's Cross Country team has started off the season with back-to-back impressive performances. The Laker's had first and second place finishes in the Steven A. Warde Invitiational hosted by SUNY Cobleskill and the Bruce Bridgeman Invitational hosted by Finger Lakes Community College.

Freshman Leah Lloyd (Macedon, N.Y./Palmyra-Macedon) earned National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DIII Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week honors for her performance at the Bruce Bridgeman Invitiational this past weekend. Lloyd finished the annual invitational with a time of 21 minutes, 44.4 seconds, a seven-minute mile pace. This gave Lloyd back-to-back first place finishes on the early Cross Country season for the Lakers.

Lloyd looks to carry her impressive performances over to this Saturday when the team travels to Roberts Wesleyan College to compete in the annual Harry E. Anderson Invitational. The 5K race starts at 11 A.M.
