Lakers Race at Houghton Highlander Invitational

HOUGHTON, N.Y. – Finger Lakes Community College competed at the Houghton Highlander Invitational on Saturday morning, as the Lakers continued to build momentum heading into championship season.

In the men's 8K, sophomore Edarius Trimble led the Lakers with a 176th-place finish in 30:34.5. He was followed by Griffin Miller (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua Academy) in 186th at 31:10.1 and William Andrew (Newark, N.Y./East Palmyra Christian) in 189th at 31:17.7. Freshman Kyan Powers (Seneca Falls, N.Y./Mynderse Academy) rounded out the group with a time of 42:53.6.

For the women's 6K, sophomore Kayla Dunstan (Ontario, N.Y./Wayne) led Finger Lakes with a 162nd-place finish in 28:30.4. Alyssa McKibbin (Lyons, N.Y./Lyons) followed in 172nd at 30:22.5, while Alana Bedell (Newark, N.Y./Newark) finished 178th in 32:09.8 and Megan McGregor (Marion, N.Y./Marion) placed 185th with a time of 39:30.8.

Looking Ahead: 

The Lakers return home on Saturday, October 18th, to host the Mid-State Athletic Conference Championship.
