Men's Basketball Claims First Conference Victory
The Finger Lakes Community College men's basketball team defeated Tompkins Cortland Community College on Tuesday, December 6 and moved to 1-0 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference.
The Lakers produced very well in the first half of Tuesday's contest, scoring 50 points. However, They were unsuccessful in stopping the opposition's attack, allowing the Panthers to score 54 points by the half.
The Lakers defense showed signed of life in the second half and held the Panthers to just 33 total points. Finger Lakes would go on to score 53 points in the second half to claim a 104-87 victory over Tompkins Cortland Community College.
Jonathan Range finished the night with an impressive 37 points and 10 rebounds for his fifth double double of the season. Shabazz Mosley had 29 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists. He now has six double doubles this season. Shane Fanning contributed 20 points and seven rebounds in the Lakers win over the Panthers.
The Lakers will continue their road play this weekend. They will face Fulton Montgomery Community College on Saturday, December 10 followed by Herkimer College on Sunday, December 11.
