Canandaigua, NY -- The Finger Lakes Community College men's basketball team defeated the Jefferson Community College Cannoneers on Saturday, January 14. The 85-72 victory improved the Lakers conference record to 3-0 and 9-5 overall.
Saturday's conference matchup was a hard fought game between both teams. They were neck and neck throughout the first half with the score ending 36-35 in favor of the Cannoneers. The Lakers remained behind through the first ten minutes of the second half. They would go on a 30-12 run in the final ten minutes to clinch a victory at home.
Jonathan Range led the Lakers with 28 points, 15 rebounds, and five assists against the Cannoneers. Shane Fanning finished with 17 points and six rebounds, while Shabazz Mosley had 15 points and seven rebounds. Jay Scarbrough had 11 points for the Lakers.
The Lakers will remain at home this weeked as they face the Royals from Schenectady County Community College on Sunday, January 15. Tipoff is set for 1pm on Putt Moore Court.
