Canandaigua, NY -- The Finger Lakes Community College basketball team had the home field advantage on Saturday, January 28, defeating the Panthers from Tompkins Cortland Community College. The Lakers improved their record to 13-6, ending the contest with a 20 point lead and a final score of 82-62.
The first four minutes of the contest was controlled by the Lakers as they held the Panthers scoreless, going on a 13-0 run. With only 1:47 remaining in the first half, the Panthers would come within a three point distance from the Lakers lead. The first half ended with a score of 37-31. The Lakers would hold at a ten point lead for the remainder of the contest, furthering the gap as the end neared.
Jonathan Range led the Lakers with a double double, including 21 points and 10 rebounds. Shane Fanning finished with 20 points and two steals. Shabazz Mosley added 16 points, four rebounds, and two assists. The Lakers will travel to Broome Community College on Wednesday, February 1 to face the Hornets in a MSAC contest.
