Lakers Lose Tough Game at Home
Canandaigua, NY -- The Finger Lakes Community COllege men's basketball team lost to the Red Barons from Corning Community College on Saturday, February 11. The 75-59 loss drops the Lakers to 8-2 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference and 15-7 on the season.
The Lakers were playing catch up from the very start of Saturday's contest and failed to convert on over 60% of their shots, finishing only 22-58. They were out-rebounded by a factor of 2-1 by the Red Barons. Overall, the Lakers were unable to get any sort of run going as the Red Barons played solid defense for the majority of the game.
the silver lining in Saturday's contest would be that Jonathan Range scored 26 points for the Lakers, which puts him over 1,000 career points for his two years with Finger Lakes Community College. Range would add five rebounds against the Red Barons. Shabazz Mosley finished with 13 points and nine rebounds.
The Lakers will play their final home contest of the season when they host the Spartans from Cayuge Community College on Wednesday, February 15. The Lakers won their first match-up against the Spartans earlier this season by a score of 93-62. Wednesday's tipoff is scheduled for 7:30pm.
