The Finger Lakes Community College men's lacrosse team was defeated by Anne Arundel Community College last night in their home opener. With the loss, the Lakers drop to 4-3 overall.
Finger Lakes played very well in the first half. By halftime Finger Lakers tied it up at 6 goals apiece. By the start of the third quarter, the Anne Arundel defense began to press harder and didn't give up many scoring opportunities for the Lakers.
The Riverhawks held Finger Lakes scoreless for the remainder of the game, while their offense scored an additional 11 goals. At the final buzzer, the Riverhawks would earn the victory over the Lakers by a score of 17-6.
Andrew Buck led the Lakers scoring with 2 goals. Ethan Bakogiannis had 1 goal and 2 assists for Finger Lakes. Matt Hall, Justin Young, and Zakk Mount each finished with 1 goal apiece.
Finger Lakes lacrosse will return to action this weekend when they take on Frederick Community College on Saturday, 3/19 at 4 pm. Following Saturday's game, the Lakers will travel to Howard Community College on Sunday, 3/20 at 1 pm.
