Men's Track Qualifies for Nationals at Westminster Invitational

The Finger Lakes Community College men's Track and Field team participated in the Westminster Invitational on Saturday, April 16, and performed very well.  The 4x100 and 4x400 relay team of Adam Thorman, Lane Howard, Nate Murad and Jerrett Laskett, qualified for the NJCAA Championships by finishing in 13th place in both relays, in a season best 46.01 and 3:35.07. 

Jerrett Laskett also qualified in the high jump clearing 1.79 meters and also ran a personal record in the open 400 by running a 51.07 for 12th place overall. Jarrett also qualified for Nationals in all four of his events on Saturday. 

Mike Pulver, in his first meet as a Laker, qualified in the 110HH running a 17.92 to meet the National standards.  Koty Smith ran his fastest track 5K run in a National qualifying time of 17:24.04, as well as a season best in the 800 in2:18.67. 

Team Captain Mike Newcomb qualified for his first National appearance in a personal record in the discus throwing a 34.39 over 2 meters better than last season.  Nate Murad ran a personal record in the 400 in 53.64; Adam Thorman ran his personal best in 55.29; Serref Jaguraga ran a personal best in 54.70 and Lane Howard ran a personal record in 53.97 in the 400 as well.
