BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College women's basketball team fell to SUNY Broome, 63–51, after a tough second quarter proved costly.
Finger Lakes led 13–11 after the first quarter but was outscored 16–4 in the second, sending Broome into halftime with a 27–17 lead. The Lakers played more evenly in the second half but couldn't close the gap. Ella Robinson (Hallstead, PA./Blue Ridge) led Finger Lakes with 16 points, while Breanna Dunning (Penn Yan, N.Y./Penn Yan) added 12. Kierra Shaughnessy (Canastota, N.Y./Canastota) scored 9, Ava Read (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua Academy) had 8, and Karah Hill (Ovid, N.Y./South Seneca) pulled down a team-high 8 rebounds.
The Lakers are back for a road trip to North Country Community College tomorrow at 5 PM.
