Fast Start Powers Finger Lakes Past Tompkins Cortland
Canandaigua, N.Y. - Finger Lakes Women's Basketball closed out the week in strong fashion, earning a commanding 68–57 victory over Tompkins Cortland Community College.
Freshman Ava Read (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua Academy) led the way with an outstanding performance, scoring 24 points and pulling down 17 rebounds to record her fourth double-double of the season. Breann Dunning (Penn Yan, N.Y./Penn Yan Academy) continued her strong play with 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Ella Robinson (Hallstead, Pa./Blue Ridge) rounded out the trio of double-doubles with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
The Lakers will look to build on the momentum when they host Genesee on Wednesday. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m.
